Contains information about the product groups that have been set up within the item categories.
After you assign an item to an item category, such as furniture, you can assign it to a product group within the item category, for example, chairs, tables, or sofas. You enter the product group code on the item card or the nonstock item card.
From the Product Group Code field on the item card, you can only select a code if you have first selected an item category code. The Item Category Code field is right above the Product Group Code field on the item card.
If you need to set up new product groups, you must do this in the master product groups list, which is only accessible from Administration, Application Setup, Warehouse, Setup - Inventory, Product Groups.
