Contains a product group code that relates to the item category that is assigned to the item.
Product group codes can be used to indicate the type of product that an item belongs to, such as Paint, Tools, or Furniture.
You also use the Product Group Code field to define the item’s warehouse class code. For more information, see Warehouse Classes.

| From the Product Group Code field on the item card, you can only select a code if you have first selected an item category code. The Item Category Code field is right above the Product Group Code field on the item card. |
If you need to set up new product group codes, you must do this in the Product Groups table, which you access from Administration, Application Setup, Warehouse, Inventory, Product Groups.
