Microsoft Dynamics NAV is already set up for you when you start to work. An administrator or super user assigns a relevant Role Center to you and configures the menus and windows to fit the needs of your company and your role before you start to work with Microsoft Dynamics NAV. This topic describes the customization changes that you can make to your own user interface. The changes that you make affect only your particular instance of the system (defined by your logon) and not those of your colleagues.

Through the Application menu, you typically perform most of your customizations. You can, for example, customize FactBoxes, the Navigation Pane, and This Page. Customize always brings up a customization window, with the exception of selecting Customize Chart…, which brings up the Generic Chart Customization window. For more information, see Generic Chart Setup.

Important
Any customization that alters the ribbon could affect the guidance provided in the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Help. The standard Microsoft Dynamics NAV Help always refers to the W1 version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV, and therefore this should be considered when you use Help in a customized version.
