Client Control Add-ins are delivered as Microsoft .NET Framework-based assemblies. The control add-in can be used with Microsoft Dynamics NAV Windows client and Microsoft Dynamics NAV Web client pages.

There are two ways to develop client add-ins. The extensibility introduced with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 enabled for development for Microsoft Dynamics NAV Windows client. The extensibility introduced with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 allows for developing add-ins that can be used on all display targets. To include a control add-in on a Role Center, you apply the control add-in on a page that is assigned to a part of the Role Center.
