The field is automatically calculated and updated according to the Quantity field in the Item Ledger Entry table. To see the item ledger entries that make up the value, choose the field.

You can filter this field so its contents are calculated only based on one field or any combination of the following:

• Global Dimension 1 values.
  
• Global Dimension 2 values.
  
• Locations.
  
• Item variants.
  
• Lot numbers.
  
• Serial numbers.
  

You can also set a filter in the Drop Shipment Filter field so that the contents of the Inventory field are calculated based on the items that will be shipped as a drop shipment.
