Open the database in the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 Classic client.

Run a database test to determine the state of the customer’s database.

On the File menu, choose Database, and then choose Test.

Tip
Before you run any test, configure the Classic client to write test results to a file so that you will not have to acknowledge screen messages for every error that is found. In the Test Database dialog box, open the Options tab, choose File, and then enter or browse to a path and file name.

To test everything except field relationships between tables, in the Test Database dialog box, open the General tab, and then choose Normal.

If the test fails, follow the workflow for repairing damaged databases.

To test field relationships between tables, choose Custom, and then choose Test field relationships between tables.

This lets you determine the extent of any data inconsistency that may exist in the database. If you receive error messages during the test, note the content and number. You must then determine whether these errors will affect the upgrade.

Compile all the objects in the database.

Open Object Designer, choose All. On the Tools menu, choose Compile.

Repair any objects that are not compiling correctly.
